Build a what?

How did I get involved in the world of virtual pipe organs? Well I have my daughter to blame! She's a pianist, and in 2012 she won the Tetbury Organ Scholarship.

Now although this has opened up a whole new world of music for her, it did present a problem. We live in a rural location, away from Tetbury church, so getting there isn't very convenient.

Obviously she is able to play the organ at the church, but it isn't always convenient to get to the church. The solution is to create a Hauptwerk based practice organ at home. This blog will document this project.

By way of background, here is a some information about the 'real' church organ she's learning on. A little too large and grand for our spare room!

Tetbury Church

The parish church of 'St Mary the Virgin and St Mary Magdalen', in Tetbury (to give it it's full name), is a fabulous late 18th century building, regarded as one of the earliest, and best examples of Georgian Gothic churches in the UK.
